In a heartbreaking incident on the morning of August 15, 2025, a pickup truck carrying pilgrims met with a tragic accident in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The vehicle plunged into a gorge, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, all of whom were pilgrims from Punjab.
The police reported that the accident occurred around 7:29 AM when they were alerted about the pickup truck's mishap near Balle Hotel, close to Ikku Mor on the Chamunda-Dharamshala road.
Preliminary investigations indicate that one woman died instantly, while three others, including another woman and two men, later succumbed to their injuries at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital in Tanda.
Many of the injured, some with severe wounds, were quickly transported to local hospitals, with several being referred to Tanda Medical College for specialized care. The police have initiated an inquiry into the accident's cause, and local authorities, along with rescue teams, promptly conducted relief efforts at the site.
